Noooo! What is this and how do I get it out?!

This dress was given to DD as a gift and one wear/wash later, it has weird dark splashy stains on it! What the heck happened?! It wasn't like that when I put the dress in the wash, the only marks on it were some pale orange stains from spilled juice (which came out easily).

There are no stains on anything else that was in the wash at the same time, the washing machine was clean (we put that cleaner stuff through it a couple of weeks ago), and the usual stain removers (Vanish etc.) aren't shifting it.

Gutted! I have a feeling nothing can be done, though, especially when I don't know what it is Sad

Suggestion of something to try: Sticky Stuff Remover. Disclaimer I haven't tried it with bubbles, but it has worked with other chemically type stains that didn't come out with other methods (particularly effective against P20 sun cream which turned out white shirts pink).
Robert Dyas do it, it's a liquid in a bottle.

I'd also have a go with some bicarb mixed into a paste spread on the stain and leave in the sun (if you can find any). Then wash a few times.

Sorry about the dress OP but thank goodness for this thread, would never have suspected bubbles!!!!
No more bubbles in decent clothes then, i'll be getting her to wear her holiday club messy clothes!

Not relevant really but I am amazed that I have shifted acrylic paint from black cotton trousers .
Soaked overnight in cold water with a cup of surgical spirit and half a cup of Stergene .

Bubbles!! This solves a good couple of years of mystery stains!!!

Has anyone had any success in removing the stains?

It’s from a dirty washing machine. If you use washing machine cleaner it’ll stop it from happening in future. Half the time you can’t even see that the washing machine is dirty. (This happened to me with a load of white polo shirts for school…)

Yep, bubble mixture does this. Took me until my 3rd child to work this out
