We have had numerous run ins over the years. De - escalated when he was working from home & we just ignored each other. Now he's back in the office & he's putting his Google home (locked) up against our wall.. Its bloody loud but I can cancel it out with my own alexa.. Please tell me its costing him a fortune!

What, he’s deliberately putting it on and then going out. Just to annoy you. What a blimmin freak he is! I think I’d try just ignoring it because I suspect he’ll get bored, or forget, and stop.

Why are some people such cunts?

FaceLikeASlappedAss · 04/03/2022 16:21

Keep reporting I'd actually maybe try 101?

Also tell him thanks for the music it really helps pass your day and not wasting time deciding what to listen to. It's like having your own personal dj.

I had horrible neighbours once, they were loud disgusting and dirty. We lived in the ground flat of a converted house and use to get cockroaches constantly coming down from their flat. They were all men early 20s ad would play video games and watch sports through the night screaming and shouting, getting drunk. One day while cleaning up, I decided to put some music on, for some reason I decided I fancied a bit of rage against the machine, not sure why as I’m very much a pop Princess. Anyway within minutes there was thumping coming from upstairs, I’m guessing they were all dealing with hangovers after being up all night screaming at the tv. I was really pleased, even more so as my sound system, talking early 00s here was massive, id not even scratched the surface of what it could do, mainly as we lived in a 1 bed apartment we didn’t need to hook all the speakers up, that was until I finally had a reason. I spend the next hour getting ready to go out and hooked all the speakers up, turned the volume up and left with rage against the machine blasting on repeat until we got home later that night, about 8 hours in total.

Before anyone says about the neighbours, it wasnt the uk, houses were fairly spread out, our closest neighbours were a house full of stoners my ex got on with, they thought it was funny, apparently they sat outside watching our upstairs neighbours going nuts and storming out of their flat all day.

It didn’t stop them but it did make me feel good for a while. I did it a couple more times after they had been up all night, my ex was really into death metal so I chucked a few of his cds I couldn’t stand on and left them running.

My thoughts exactly.
FaceLikeASlappedAss · 04/03/2022 16:28

Or say. Could you please not play 'xyz' but make sure it's something you like, hell put on xyz thinking you hate it.

WonderfulYou · 04/03/2022 17:21

To be honest I think hes looking for a fight & a retaliation.

Honestly I would put ear plugs in and try and ignore it then.

If he wants a fight he wants you to go to the council and complain and argue with him - don’t stoop down to his level. It will annoy him more.

I’d maybe just sunbathe on the front garden with a cocktail in hand whilst ‘working’ as he returns home from being stuck in the office all day Grin

Wonnle · 04/03/2022 17:22

Report him to the council for everything you can think of !
And keep reporting him over and over

@MrsMoastyToasty

I suggest you play something really loud like bagpipe music, or get a small child to practise a musical instrument...badly.
You can probably download children playing the recorder or violin very badly. Ooo that would be painful on repeat
MyBottleOfRibena · 04/03/2022 17:56

Is he back in the office full time? I’d wait and see what his pattern is, and then stick loud music on when he is working and bugger off for the day.

If you're going to go down this route surely you should do it by getting your Alexa to play 'Thankyou for the music' at top whack through his wall when he gets back?
