Do we still need to self isolate? (Scotland)

Am feeling stupid but can’t figure it out online, everything I’m looking at says different .

Person A has tested positive for covid19 via lateral flow .

A had contact with myself on Tuesday .

Do I need to now isolate for ten days ?

No symptoms and I’m three times jabbed (last one was before Christmas), so I’m not sure? We’re in Scotland so I think the rules are different to England .

No, you need to lft for the 10 days instead. I’m in Scotland too.

KEG05 · 03/03/2022 07:12

No you don’t you just need to lateral flow for 10 days and as long as they are negative your fine to go about your business. X

We r similar position and are doing lat Flo's but we now both hav symptoms.Mine are mild (sore throat and tiredness) but dd has really sore throat and head.I should b going into work but now am off with her.We r day 4 of negative lft and don't know how if I should push for going back to school and work tomorrow.Conscious that absences have been high this year! For some reason I feel really anxious and guilty that we r doing the wrong thing by being off.I feel there is more pressure now as this puts me at odds with what work's position is.Anyone else feel like this?

@Cleaningismycardio have you got anywhere near you that you could go get a PCR today?
I was negative on LFT's in December even with a positive PCR and symptoms.

As others have said, if you test positive you still need to isolate. If you're a close contact, you need to do LFT's but no need to isolate if negative

I'm sure it's LFT for 7 days not 10. You can go out if you are negative each day
dementedpixie · 03/03/2022 09:17

LFT each day for 7 days only applies to triple boosted or under 18s

emmathedilemma · 03/03/2022 09:31

No, i got a test & protect message yesterday saying i had to self isolate as i was a close contact. I actually thought it was a scam text so rang them as I'd been anywhere in the timescales the contact would have taken place (since found out who it was!). If you're triple vaxxed you're advised to do LFT for 7 days.

Doidontimmm · 03/03/2022 11:56

My son tested positive on the Monday, daughter Friday, me Sunday then OH Friday! I’d PCR if symptoms, we all started with sore throat.

emmathedilemma · 03/03/2022 12:28

Did not want to read that @Doidontimmm! I had a sore throat yesterday.....

Itsbackagain · 03/03/2022 12:51

@Cleaningismycardio if you have symptoms you need to book a pcr and si till you get results.

Cleaningismycardio · 03/03/2022 13:14

Thank you!Will book PCR.

fnknackered · 03/03/2022 15:36

Triple vaxxed, no symptoms . Have spoken to chum who works for covid19 services and she said LFT every morning, if positive then yes we’re in the house, if not we can carry on as normal . Hoping will get more lateral flows tomorrow .

I ordered a box of LFTs at 17:10 yesterday and they arrived in today's post which I wasn't expecting!
