Can anyone recommend a good holiday cottage website?

I'm trying to find a cottage for a family break in England or South Wales, and it's proving difficult!

I need somewhere where most of the communal rooms are on the ground floor plus a bedroom, as my mum can't do stairs. (It'd be great if there was a website that had this feature to search on as trawling loads of unsuitable ones is a pain!)

It also needs to have decent outside space or facilities to keep the kids occupied.

My mum and other relatives want somewhere quiet and peaceful but my DC would love to be around loads of kids and activities so balancing that out is proving tricky also!

We've been looking at places that are around £1.5k to £2.5k or so for 7 of us for a week.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

We have just got back from staying here, the barn is huge with a ground floor bedroom, there is a hot tub, pool and the owner of the property has her stables in the area so our kids got to groom the horses. It's literally in the middle of nowhere in a tiny village with activities about 15-20min drive away.

Anything other than Sykes or companies owned by them. I'd rather pitch a tent in my own back garden than use them again.

I've never had issues with Sykes, though we are not using them this year as their prices are ridiculous.

I looked at this site, but there was nothing suitable for us, but they have a good selection of larger properties.

This is the one I was lushing after, but I wasn't sure I could convince the rest of the family to stay so close to a mainline

I hate them with a passion after they kept changing their refund/cancellation policies in 2020 and we ended up losing money that I believe were entitled to. I argued for a long time but ran out of energy in the end.

pink that sounds a nightmare. We went somewhere else in 2020 so avoided them. I was quite concerned last year that Sykes would cancel my booking as we booked it before they hiked all the prices up. They could have got almost double out of someone else.

How big does it need to be and how old are the DCs? We stayed here a while back:

It would suit your mum - possibly not your DCs though.

Sorry just seen it needs to be for seven. Might not be big enough - sorry.

Sykes are excellent.
With Hoseasons we had 2 bad experiences. One place was absolutely filthy.
