DS nursery are doing costumes for World Book day tomorrow and while we have plenty of costumes, he won't wear any of them.Confused Lovely Mnetters please inspire me. Is there a well known book character that wears "regular" clothes that I can try to replicate with what's in his wardrobe?

Not Wally as I dont have a striped top or hat.

I'd not try and turn him into a character at all if he didn't want to get dressed up.
What I would do is put one of his costumes in his bag so that if, when getting to nursery and seeing his peers all dressed up, he decides he wished he'd joined in too, he's got one in his bag to change into.
Let the teacher know there's one in his bag Incase he changes his mind later in the day too.
He may not, and that's fine but you've got it covered.

Alfie-Shirley Hughes
Dogger (just take a soft toy dog)
Harry and his bucket of dinosaurs (if you have a beach bucket and toy dinosaurs)
Charlie and Lola
Topsy and Tim
Detective Dog
The storm whale if you have jeans and blue striped jumper
This is the Bear (green jumper, brown/orange trousers)
When I Grow Up Tim Minchin

Probably be easier if you go through your own collection so you can take the book with you
