Did anyone take Xonvea for morning sickness?

Currently 9 weeks and have been taking Xonvea for 6 days (minimum dose of 20mg).. just done some research into it and discovered it is a rebranded version of a previous medication which was recalled due to links with numerous congenital deformities in children whose mums took it, so now feeling worried about my baby 😞

Wouldn't take it if I didn't need to, but literally cannot function with 24/7 severe nausea/retching/vomiting (though not enough to be classed as HG)

Has anyone taken it during their first trimester with a healthy little one at the end?

I should add that I had 4 miscarriages last year, all between 5 and 10 weeks (unknown causes), so the anxiety is already high 😞

I took it every single night from 6 weeks pregnant until the night before I went into hospital to be induced. I have a happy and healthy toddler now.

Hi OP there is a really good website called Bumps which has info on meds in pregnancy - see my links below

Can anyone advise on alternatives to Xonvea? I’ve been suffering with hyperemesis since 5 weeks and I’m almost 14 weeks. My GP initially tried cyclizine, then prochlorperazine which didn’t help. Then I was started on Xonvea and have been taking it for almost 6 weeks and it really stopped the vomiting although nausea was still there it was manageable. Unfortunately Xonvea has now gone out of stock with the manufacturer so I had to stop taking it abruptly and the vomiting is back with a vengeance. Asked my GP for alternative and they represcribed prochlorperazine again and I’m still not keeping food down. Has anyone had any luck with other anti emetics that they would recommend?
Thanks x

Ondansetron worked for me in my previous pregnancy. Its a third line drug really but was prescribed straight off by a registrar at my antinatal clinic (which I was at for a totally different reason) because I was barely functioning. I think GPs can prescribe it but may not want to. Worth a try though as it stopped my debilitating nausea over night.

try a different chemist? I went to an independent (non chain) and they managed to get hold of it for me, good luck

Thanks everyone, my GP has switched me to promethazine which is helping keep the vomiting at bay!

My GP has prescribed Xonvea today. Has anyone used it and is it effective?

I didn't use that exact brand but I was on dormix throughout my pregnancy which is one of the active ingredients of Xonvea, and I used the other ingredient for a while at some point but that didn't help. The doxylamine was great though, really helped except for when my HG was at its worst.
