Gap year work in EU - post Brexit is this still possible?? Are any of your DC able to work in EU?

DS in upper sixth wants to do a gap year and had hoped to work in a ski resort in Europe for much of it.
Having done a bit of desk research we are finding that, post Brexit, the situation is very sticky. There is no agreement between the UK and EU to enable youth mobility visas, and no progress seems to be happening to sort this out.

Do any of you have DC working for more than 90 days in an EU country? Any in ski resorts?
We would love to know what's possible and what you are coming across.

Just wondering if you got anywhere with this OP?

Hi @NotDonna sorry I've only just seen your post. No, I got nowhere with this. Have chased my local MP 4 times to get an update on what the Foreign Office is doing to negotiate improved youth mobility between UK and EU nations but she and her staff are being useless.
It's really frustrating and i'm sure it must affect very large numbers of people. Does it impact on you and your family?

I don't think it's possible any more OP (Brexit bonus etc Sad). Lots of ski companies who are advertising are stipulating EU passport holders only.

She is half Aussie so could work over there easily but Europe would have been good!

It is vaguely possible but not easy.
I only know about France but here in order to employ a non-eu resident a company has to show that they couldn't fill the post an eu resident. This includes advertising for I think 2 months on the local jobseakers office website.
I'm not sure about the next bit but I think the applicant needs to come to France and then get the employer to sponsor them for a work permit. The problem is this takes a long time to come through ie half the ski season would be over.
There are paperwork 'handholders' in France for people settling here and it might be worth contacting someone doing that to see if you can jump through the hoops.
