Anyone bought a refurbished iPhone from Apple?

If so, was it any good? Did it look brand new? Did it break shortly after the year's warranty ended? Any other issues?

Don't really want to spend ££££ on an iPhone 12 but I need a new phone and I cannot go back to an Android phone.

No but I've bought them for the kids and my mum from CEX, no issues at all.

I’ve bought a few from music magpie and they’ve all been great, no issues at all.

Same here. And my latest is from O2. All fine!
Derrymum123 · 26/02/2022 16:43

Yep, for the kids. No problems whatsoever. I am a Samsung fan though, so no direct use, but the children are on them all the time. Not one problem encountered.

howardmoonseyebrow · 26/02/2022 16:45

I did years ago, it was an iphone4 , it was fine, no issues

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/02/2022 16:45

If they're anything like the refurbished iMac ,it will be all new apart from the bit you don't see inside plus it'll still have the guarantee.

LemonViolets · 26/02/2022 16:51

Yes, it was immaculate, if I didn’t know it was refurbished I would thought it was brand new, lasted as long as any other iPhone I’ve had.

I bought a refurbished iPhone from EE, absolutely perfect no issues at all. Looked brand new

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2022 16:56

My friend bought a refurbished laptop from
Them. No issues at all. I'm
Looking for a refurbished iPad at the minute from them.

IggyAce · 26/02/2022 17:00

We’ve brought several iPads from apple refurbished, no issues at all they come boxed as new.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 26/02/2022 17:00

No but I have bought a refurbished iPad from apple before.

It's still going strong after 8 years and never ever had a problem with it.

Obviously it doesn't receive all the latest updates anymore but it still functions perfectly well and holds a decent charge.

RalphLaurenG · 26/02/2022 17:05

Yes, my current phone. It's absolutely as new, I've not had any problems with it at all.

HermioneWeasley · 26/02/2022 17:06

Don’t use quick mobile fix - bunch of scammers

GiantKitten · 26/02/2022 17:14

I bought a refurbished 7+ from an Amazon merchant in July 2018 (so nearly 2 years old) and it’s still going strong.
I had a new battery fitted in Nov 2020 when it was down to 77% and that’s been fine.
Doesn’t seem to like iOS 15 so much though, I’m having to reboot more often.

TravellingFrom · 26/02/2022 17:16

Yes several times. I wouldn’t buy them new tbh seeing the quality if the refurbished ones.
No issues at all.

Battybonkers · 26/02/2022 17:26

Yes, looked brand new, functioned like a brand new phone. Toddler smashed the screen after a week. Slightly less gutting knowing that it wasn’t a new new phone he’d yet again wrecked. Looking forward to spending the next 2 years of the contract with a cracked screen ….. again.

Ok -decision made. Refurb it is.

Had a bad year with iphones when DS was a toddler - one ended up in the (clean) toilet and after drying out, I thought the screen was water damaged so bought a new one (which got stolen 6 months later). So always looking for a bargain ...

No not bought a refurbished one from apple but from reading up there fully tested new battery and new outer shell come packaged with cable. So basically you'd be getting a near enough brand new like phone. And a 1 year guarantee. So I would consider it.

VladmirsPoutine · 26/03/2022 22:12

Anyone used Giffgaff or Blackmarket? I want to do this too OP because frankly I dont have £1k to spare for a new one.
