If your baby got their teeth quickly and early...

How did they grow up? Do they have any SN?

Seems like an odd thing to ask but I've seen some research that links babies getting all their teeth before their first birthday and autism. I have a 7 month old with nearly 8 teeth (since the new year), an older child awaiting ASD assessment and a brother with ASD so it's a bit close to home.

Also regardless of SN, did their baby teeth fall out quickly again? How is their dental health?

DD1 had her first tooth before she was 12 weeks., lost her first baby tooth aged 4 and had all her adult teeth before age 10. No SN, and her teeth are fine.

DD2 was less quick off the mark but also had all her adult teeth by 10. No SN.

I got my first tooth aged 12mo, lots of adult teeth before I started school. I have adhd, although no one ever noticed that and I was finally diagnosed at 35. I’m pretty sure my adhd is hereditary (hence no one noticing it) and no one else in my family had very early teeth.

I did need extensive orthodontic work done. My teeth were a right mess by the time I was 11.

@SlipperyLizard eeee 12 weeks is early!

@wonderstuff I think I may have ADHD, procrastinating talking to a Dr though. My brother also has it.

I'm looking for getting ALL or near enough all the teeth early though

My son was born with two bumps which erupted as his first teeth by the time he was 3 days old. He had his first dentist visit at 6 days old with his white, shiny teeth. The rest of his teeth came in on a more normal schedule.

He was eventually diagnosed with Autism when he was nine, albeit very high-functioning. I have never connected the two.

kkneat · 25/02/2022 18:24

My three all had their first tooth/teeth by 3 months , all baby teeth by 13 months and all baby teeth had fallen out by 10. One had orthodontist work for an overbite. One has high functioning autism (not the one that needed orthodontist work) but I have never heard of link and cannot really fathom why their would be
