So painful.

Googling suggests scalp acne or psoriasis.

Hi there.
You could show your pharmacist, ask about a medicated shampoo initially. Nizoral for e.g.

I've always had occasional painful spots.

My psoriasis patches don't hurt tbh.

LagganBubble · 23/02/2022 22:45

Yes, I have these, but they're not painful

Thank you. I'm gonna ask for this. I have terrible dry scalp also so use an anti dandruff shampoo but probably doesn't help my scalp.

Sounds like it isn't psoriasis then.

Omg, I was just Googling this, for about the 500th time. I suffer dreadful ly with them. They seem to worse around my totm, but now thy seem to be there constantly. I have about 6 or eight at present. They are the bane of my life. I so wish I could get something to get rid of them. I have triad coal tar shampoo and the soap that they use in hospital, I can’t remember the name. Mine are like cystic pimples, an very painful.

Do you/ did you have keratosis pilaris?

Luredbyapomegranate · 23/02/2022 23:03

I get eczema, and a steroid lotion is all that really clears it up.. it gives me a flakey scalp too, but anti dandruff shampoos would make it worse (because it’s not fungal) - this is a long winded way of saying try and get a proper diagnoses so you aren’t treating it with the wrong thing and making it worse

ghislaine · 23/02/2022 23:05

Could they be infected hair follicles?

DirtyDancing · 23/02/2022 23:06

I get this! I thought it was connected to using Olaplex (and still wonder if it might be) but unsure at the moment. I get them in the back of my head, so very sore sometimes like bruised to touch
