Mice in bedroom

So after having a mouse (which cat brought in from garden) in my bedroom and then kitchen late last year (thanks cat) I now have another one in my bedroom! No idea why it’s here as cat sometimes sleeps here. The room is fairly tidy - not that messy.

I do sometimes eat chocolate and snacks here as well as in living room. I suppose I should eat them in living room.

There may be mice in walls which is ongoing and I don’t really want to deal with that…

Moving into spare bedroom tonight but why is the cat bringing mice in? I fitted a cat door recently as before she was just being let in via French window.

Any tips before I burn the house down?!

Yeah, never have a cat flap.

Put some spring traps down along your skirting boards with a bit peanut butter.

Peppermint oil is meant to discourage them as they hate the smell. The idea is you put cotton wool balls in the holes where they're coming in. But if the cat is bringing them in that's not going to work. Maybe you could try adding peppermint oil to a diffuser or insence burner. It's strange you've got a problem - even the smell of a cat is meant discourage mice.

@urbanbuddha - I think she likes to bring them in to play with as there are wood mice in garden. She catches them eventually.

The other alternative is they’re getting in from terraced house on other side. They had a mouse problem unresolved until I noticed scratching and a large mouse sized house in bedroom wall. That was blocked up by DB a couple of years ago and a small hole last year. Neighbours used to have mice coming into their house from garden (glass sliding doors) and also in garage.

Think I might have to look into pest control for cavity wall.

@gamerchick - I felt a bit sorry for her in garden in cold so that’s being stopped using. She still brought one in before with no flap though which I missed or had people staying with me who missed mouse in cats mouth…

Will try snap traps.

I checked just a couple of weeks ago when I hoovered the bedroom and no droppings so must be very recent…
