Going rate for weddings?

hollydoyle · 23/02/2022 19:23

Hi all! I've a wedding next week (midweek) which I am only invited to the evening do.. from 8.30pm...

Just curious what the 'going rate' is for wedding gift/ money in a card where you are.

I'm going alone, usually it's about £50 for the night so here , even know there'll be no food etc there, not that I care that much
Usually about £100 per the full do alone, £150 per couple full day

TIA

Evening do I would treat like a birthday party - £20 should suffice.

TarcasticSwat · 24/02/2022 14:40

£50 if going to evening reception

£100 if going to the ceremony and reception.

Each though? So a couple going would be £200 day and £100 evening?

MemoryLikeASieve1 · 24/02/2022 14:48

We got on average £50 from our guests, night or day.
However, it really is how ever much you wish to give!
The couple will be grateful for any sum of money

£30-£50 for an evening do, depending on how well I know the couple.
£50-£100 for an all-dayer, again depending on the relationship with the couple.
Gift from our family as a whole.

If you can't turn up until 8:30 and your are not even getting a sausage roll i would say you have only been invited for the cash gift. i wouldn't bother turning up.
