Recommendations for European City breaks

Hoping to go on a city break feb/mar 2023 but need somewhere relatively flat, attractions close together or good transport links around the city for ease of getting around as travelling with someone with arthritic knees.
We have done Krakow and had to Uber a couple of times back to hotel due to pain but as Uber over there were good and cheap it didn't matter too much.
Also which 'attractions' were worth seeing in the area?
TIA

Gothenburg the tram is brilliant and tram ticket also gets you on many of the ferries to visit the little islands in the archipelago.

Amsterdam is relatively small and transport is easy and good. We had a visitor's card so I don't know the prices as such though.

Maybe a bit cold though, if you want nicer weather you may need to look south-ish.

Lisbon, relaxed, beautiful streets and cafes.

Cologne is nice and relaxing. Nice food and bars. Concert hall, Roman museum if you're into history, and the cathedral. Plus the Rhine to walk along.

Amsterdam was my first thought. Canal trips may be good.

thebigpurpleone · 23/02/2022 21:27

Lisbon is not flat!

Amsterdam is fabulous

Budapest - we stayed near the river and managed to do everything on foot, although, there are regular trams and buses.

Anoooshka · 23/02/2022 21:30

Munich? It has a tram system and is quite flat.

Most of the time when we take city breaks, we do a lot of walking and go to art galleries and museums. What are your interests?

Berlin?

fortyfourfeasts · 23/02/2022 21:59

Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Venice, Amsterdam. All flat, great transport but does all depend on a central hotel!

Ghent is worth a visit, if in the Netherlands The Hague.
