Question about Assistance Dogs...

Who pays insurance and food costs for an assistance dog? The charity it came from or the person who has the dog to help them?

The person who has the dog.

The guide dog association pay vets bills.

Not sure about food, I presume the owner!

My friend trains hearing dogs and they don’t pay for anything, maybe poo bags and treats but not food. She said they don’t get to choose the food as the guide dog company pays for it all.

I know of a hearing dog charity and they pay for vets bills. The client pays for dog food

I just assumed the owner. I thought that was what disability benefit was for, to cover any extra expenses incurred for equipment or assistance to help with the disability.

I don't think q blind person owns the dog I'm not sure about food but I don't think they are responsible for vet bills despite their "disability benefits " Hmm

Guide dogs are usually fed a particular diet so maybe GDA gives discounts .
