How long does DH have to isolate for?

His symptoms started roughly 5 days ago but he had all negative LFT's, he hasn't been anywhere anyway because he didn't feel great and didn't need to. His PCR has come back positive today, so does he isolate for 10 more days from now? But can stop after day 6 if 2 neg LFT's?

I'm so confused.

I have tried looking it up, but it's not clear.

Plus the rule change later this week means technically he doesn't have to anyway?? It really makes no sense.

Till Thursday I suppose.

Day 1 is counted as first day of symptoms

I did wonder that @ilovesooty he's checking with work what they would prefer him to do. They may say no, stay away, but ironically he's supposed to be covering someone who is on sick leave from tomorrow.

He's had a text from test and trace now about logging the result, so I think they will send more info.

I'd say check with his work. My work have just said that as far as they're concerned, if you are ill with any symptoms of any illness, not just covid, and don't feel well enough to come in, you continue to stay home whether you test positive or not, no matter what the rules are. We can all WFH though if needed, which helps.

Only till Thursday legally but morally if he has symptoms he should stay home as long as he has them and till he is feeling well again.

He's a firefighter. Out of 14 of them he's the last one at his station to get it. It will leave them incredibly short staffed but they've said he's to stay off. They are still asking staff not to come in for 10 days if they are a close contact, so I'm not surprised.
