Slimfast- to kick start diet?

I need to diet and loose many kgs. I've just started slim fast to kick-start my diet. I'm thinking of doing it for about a month. 2 shakes a day plus a 600 calories meal.
I've bought the shakes plus a diet book and scales which arrive tomorrow.
Anyone use slimfast?

I did it for two weeks, followed all the rules and didn't cheat - I went down two dress sizes but I put it all back on again as soon as I started eating normally.

I'd do it again, if I was just about to go on holiday and I couldn't get into my bikini or something.

You may feel light headed and dizzy, won't have much energy and you'll be starving. I did it when I had two weeks off work so I could keep away from food. Couldn't have done it whilst working, couldn't have faced other people eating food and probably would have passed out in the office.

Thanks. I'm hoping for it to kick my snacking.

I have been using Slimfast Vitality Chocolate. It mixes with water so easier for work.
2 Weetabix with 150 ml milk in the morning around 7am.
100cal snack around 10am.
SlimFast at 12.30/1pm
100cal snack around 3pm
Evening meal around 6pm.
I use nutracheck app to work out what sort of calories I should have each day. Having SlimFast at lunch time really helps me work out calories for the day.
I'm going for a steady weight loss over a couple of months otherwise I will eat all the junk if hungry!

Dieting has two main objectives. Loosing weight and resetting your eating habits so that when you stop loosing you don’t go back to your old way of eating and pile it straight back on again.

Many people forget the second objective and do exactly that.

Sure you will loose weight, but when you stop you’ll have taught yourself nothing and be overwhelmingly likely to immediately pile it back on and then some.

I would not recommend it. Find a way of eating that works for you. That’s sustainable, that helps you loose weight then maintain when the time comes. It’s the only way.

I always do this, but I'm still fat. Now I'm having porridge for breakfast which is less than a 200 cal slimfast. I have a tesco can of soup for lunch which is 160 cal, so fewer cals than a slimfast. Then something with veg for dinner. I think ultimately its just so much cheaper, as well as more realistic long term. I do love the shakes though and are probably best left for if you are in a rush etc.
