Isle of Wight ferry…in a storm

Has anyone had any experience of this? Have a ferry booked for today in 50 mile an hour winds. It looks like they run unless it’s really awful. Been watching some videos and I’m panicking! Might just cancel the holiday and lose the money instead.

I get sick on most boats. I have never felt I'll on the IOW crossing. You'll be fine.

My Mum lives in Cowes. She has just been for a walk on the seafront and says it's windy but not bad today.

We're meant to be going too OP and I'm really dreading it. We haven't had a holiday for so long and it's only a cheap caravan thing but the kids are so excited.

I am so nervous! I have terrible memories as a child on a hovercraft in stormy weather and very very sick.

Did you make it ok OP?! Hope it wasn’t too rough and scary!

Hovercrafts are v different, their motion is odd.

Oh my god I feel like such an idiot. It was like being on a boating lake! Not even a slight bump. Really really windy but the top outside deck was closed. We stayed outside on the non windy side and my hair didn’t even blow. Thank you all so much for not letting me chicken out.
