Window blew out in the storm - what kind of person fixes this?

Just that - a window in my parents' house blew out in the storm last night. It's a big bay window and one of the side windows of the bay blew clean out - the whole window panel, together with the intact glass, blew out and landed on the lawn.

We have it but the wooden frame (presumably rotten) just sheered off.

So my question is - how can we get this fixed? Do a need to be looking for a glazier? Or a window replacer? (am guessing the whole frame needs replacing for the bay sooner or later as it's rotten).

I don't know what to google - glazier? double-glazing? window repairers? Appreciate this is also the worst time as everyone who fixes windows will be very busy.

If anyone can suggest people who do whatever the job is and are based in N London, even better!

Thanks for all advice.

Is it listed or any restrictions? A glazier will be able to board it up whilst a window installation company would be able to replace the whole unit. (although some glaziers will also)

I've just typed in window companies near me and all the local ones came up.

Thank you - wasn't sure if a glazier did anything other than replace the glass. Will try window companies now! And window installation companies. And glaziers to board it up!

We’ve had the same thing, a lovely single glazed original window as well. Any glazier can do it, window fitters can be slightly more limited if they work for a big chain, rather than being independent.

Have you/they spoken to the insurance company?
