Rehoming rabbit

I live in Birmingham and am wondering how to rehome a rabbit urgently. She's a beautiful lionhead. Someone I knew wasn't caring for her properly. They got her for their children, who then got bored, and she was left in a cage all day. I felt awful and took her into my home. I groomed her, clipped her nails, and cut the knots out of her hair. She was a mess when I got her, she had really been neglected. Unfortunately my partner became very unwell as soon as we brought her in. We didn't realise they were allergic and they've only been getting worse. Their throat closed up at one point and they were stuck in a&e. They've had to lock themselves away from her, but that also means I've not been able to let her out around the house. I've been trying to rehome her but everywhere is full and I'm getting desperate. I want her to go somewhere good but I'm extremely concerned for my partner. Any advice? Thanks.

Can’t you get her an outside hutch?

Can you Google for local rabbit rescues? Definitely don't just stick the poor thing in an outside hutch that will be too small for her. She needs a companion too and a rabbit rescue charity will pair her up with another rabbit and make sure she goes to a home that will give her plenty of space rather than just a cage or hutch. Rabbits are generally very neglected as they need a rabbit friend and more space than most people realise. Definitely never a hutch, there has been quite a bit of campaigning to raise awareness of this.

Yes defo agree with above. But lots of rabbits thrive outside with the correct accommodation. Rabbit rescues are really struggling atm so trying to find a fix yourself is better than passing the issue on.

Ask on a local Facebook group for recommendations of anyone who does this sort of organising regularly. You may have to weed out those looking for a free pet to mistreat, but it should be clear when you meet a genuine person. There is always a local cat rehomer and often a small animal rehomer too.

My rabbits lived outside full time. Double storey hutch with very large run which got moved around the garden. They were happy and lived until well over ten years old.
If that's not possible for you then an animal rescue.
