Where to stay in Oxford?

Where can me, dh and dd stay in Oxford for a weekend break? Dd is just 9, so can’t be in a room on her own. Dh would like a gym. I would prefer interconnecting rooms in a hotel or an Airbnb so we can have some adult time ….

We will be arriving and leaving by train and want to be fairly central. Any recommendations?

The Bank Hotel is nice. I've always wanted to try the Tower House B&B, which looks really nice. When we went as a family, we stayed in and Airbnb in a fairly central location. It was pricey though. Not a hotel, but if you've never been, I highly recommend the Museum of Natural History, which is terrific fun with kids.

Oh, and The Old Parsonage is terrific. Lovely rooms, food etc...but not the cheapest hotel.

Wonderful recommendations thank you! Are all those options fairly central?

When are you planning to go? If it's outside of university term, you will often find the colleges rent out rooms, and this can be quite good in terms of price. I doubt you'd get a gym but might be a fun option anyway.

(Oh, and please don't try Malmaison. DP and I went when DD was a baby, and for us it was splashing out a bit. It was shit and a particular low point was the cot for DD had a not-very-clean blanket, proudly flashing a Primark label, as the only covering. Bleugh!)

Yes, @artificialhells, they are. All within reasonable walking distance of the main sights.

It depends on what you want. We stayed recently in the premier inn. We booked a family room; it was clean, had friendly staff and was central. We didn’t want a gym and there are so many great food outlets that we wouldn’t be eating in the hotel anyway.
