50th present for the man who has everything

I need ideas wise people of the internet! Husband turns 50 in a few weeks. I've already paid for a weekend break around his birthday but I want to buy him something as well. He has everything. He likes whiskey, good wine, coffee, running & fitness and F1 racing. I thought about a bean to cup machine but when I floated the idea he didn't seem that bothered.

Any ideas would be welcomed! Budget up to £500.

can you get him a couple of bottles of wine from his birth year , I did this for my Bil who loved them

TheSpottedZebra · 13/02/2022 15:51

I take it he's been to F1 races? Make that into a weekend?

The only thing that whisky people want is more whisky, really. A nice bottle a month for a year? A distillery visit?

A case of nice wine?

Rent a coffee plant, or an olive tree?

A beehive? Random.

Thanks for the ideas. He's been to the Grand Prix before but I didn't really want to get him another trip as I've already booked one. I wanted to get him a 'thing'.

What about a share in a private whisky cask.

Muststopbuyingplants · 13/02/2022 18:46

Can you get some sort of subscription? A monthly bottle of whisky?

My friend got their Partner a flying lesson, they loved it.

Apple Watch or another fitness tracker watch?

GreenLunchBox · 13/02/2022 20:35

Seems like a waste of £500 if there is nothing that tickles his fancy. I wouldn't be happy if someone wasted £500 on me when there's nothing I need or want

GreenLunchBox · 13/02/2022 20:36

A night out to see a comedian he likes?

Agreed. Definitely don't spend that much if there's nothing he really wants. A couple of nice, well chosen things much better than a big expensive gesture he's not bothered about.
GreenLunchBox · 13/02/2022 20:49

Yes, the royal family just get each other humourous cheap gifts because obviously they want for nothing.

I assume you already donate to charity, otherwise a donation in his name would be good.

Otherwise a good day/night out to see something he really likes would surely always be welcome

Morechocmorechoc · 13/02/2022 20:55

Shame you mentioned the coffee machine to him. Once you have one and find the right beans there's no going back. De longhi do great ones. Of not then a hamper? You can do fine wine, whisky, coffee, biscuits, smoked salmon, crackers, cheese, beef wellington, ham.

sunshinelover69 · 13/02/2022 21:19

Yeah I'm not going to just blow £500 on something he's not bothered about. Just feel like I need to make it special as he really pushed the boat out for my big birthday.
