Is it best to have anaesthetic for crown?

I have had first appointment and dentist hS prepared my molar for a crown and fitted a temporary crown.

I have a second appointment in 2 weeks to remove temporary crown and put in permanent crown.

Dentist thinks that next appointment will be okay without anaesthetic. What experiences do others have? Is it standard not to have anaesthetic for fitting of a permanent crown?

I never had any when mine was fitted....quite easy...popped off the temp one and cleaned around and then cemented the proper one.

Yes it should be ok

No anaesthetic. They just wiggle your temporary crown off and glue your permanent one on. The glue is a bit cold on your stump but it doesn't hurt in any way. I've had a few so don't worry. It doesn't hurt and no anaesthetic is necessary.

I have dental phobia and low dentist pain threshold (fine with everything else!) but crown fitting is fine
