Having issues with washing machine again. Had some problems a few years back which gradually resolved to a point I could use the machine cautiously as long as I used in a very specific way.

Another issue has occurred possibly relating to old issue possibly a new issue I’m not sure.

Engineer visit booked.

Item is 5 years old this spring and as I’m in Scotland after this point it will be much more difficult for me to claim under consumer rights act I think.

I’m fed up!

I’m also reluctant to BUY a new machine myself as I’m likely moving soon and next place might already have its own washer.

I’m pissed off at the retailer as they keep blaming me (even though I’ve checked with others in real life and on here that how I use my machine isn’t in fact stupidly! But is how many others do) and also are insistent that under my policy with them which I pay monthly for that x no of engineer visits have to occur before they will even CONSIDER a replacement.

Fed Up of the whole farce and I need a working washer!!

What policy do you have?
How do you use it 'in a way that isn't stupid but how some others use it?'

It’s a policy with a high street retailer I hope that’s enough info

I used it perfectly normally imo it’s the retailer seems to think we should be using in very odd particular ways!

Precisely@Kebabandchipsplease

After this much time consumer law is unlikely to be able to help you and if they have effected repairs (and you have accepted them) then they've done all they need to do. Also it sounds like you are using it in a way that isn't anticipated by the manufacturer. Whatever that is but damage caused by that wouldn't be covered.

I would probably suggest that this policy (again whatever it is) is your best bet but It depends what it is and what it says

No that's not enough info. It is an policy for repair? An extended warranty? A home insurance policy?

Argos care?

SmorgasBorb · 08/02/2022 19:03

OP if you are paying monthly for a repair type policy then that is your best course of action. These policies are often very expensive but the providers can be very narrow in their delivery of the benefits. If they are not meeting their obligations under the policy then a complaint to them may get the best result
If you tell us what policy it is we might be able to advise further
