How big is a box room?

We are thinking of splitting a big bedroom into two. I’ve seen posts on here about box rooms, and I’m just wondering if we’d be taking a good sized room and ruining it. Doors to both rooms would be fire doors

None of the rooms in my house are as big as 10x10 so that sounds plenty big enough to me

I think our 4th bedroom would be classed as a box room and it is 2.5m x 3m.

Is that a joke? That's just your smallest bedroom not a boxroom!

I agree it's now synonymous with a small bedroom - usually associated with traditional 1930s semis which had /have 2 big bedrooms and a single / box bedroom. They're usually between 6ft - 9ft square. Still classed as a bedroom even if 6 or 7ft x 6 or 7ft.

I think two rooms 10 x 10ft and 12ft x 10ft are much bigger than box rooms on any view!

Ds is 6ft 5 by 8ft

Those dimensions sound ok. Bigger than a box room for sure.

What am I missing? What does having fire doors on the rooms have any relevance to how big a box room is???
