Restaurants in Bristol

Going to Bristol in March and staying in Clifton, a weekend away for my 75 year old mum and I.
Looking for a nice restaurant for dinner - all the Michelin type ones seem to have tasting menus and mum's appetite is not massive so 6/8 courses aren't really what we're going for, even if they're small!
Any good recommendations?

Pasta Ripiena - specialise in stuffed pasta, absolutely amazing and fab atmosphere.
Wilson's, tiny place in Cotham, delicious modern British food. Has won lots of awards.
Sonny stores is in Southville, gorgeous Italian food.
Bravas, in Cotham is great tapas, so lots of small plates, but you don't have order loads.

In Clifton you have The Ivy, Cote Brasserie, The Giggling Squid (Thai), Fishers, The Spiny Lobster, Bulrush in Cotham which is about 1 mile away. The Spiny lobster is the most elegant out of those. The Riverstation by the harbour side is lovely with beautiful views.

Adelina's yard is also lovely (they do a tasting menu but you can also order a la carte). The Lido in Clifton is also nice. Out if all of these I think that The Riverstation is a really safe bet as the food and service is consistently good, but the views are really lovely, being right on the water.

I've eaten at little french and it's excellent littlefrench.co.uk/about/

Fred Sirieix was there on 'Remarkable Places to Eat' with Michel Roux Jr www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000qrxy if you want to take a look.

There are so many good places to eat in Bristol - pretty much everywhere I was thinking of has been mentioned!

Might not be up your mum's street, but Wapping Wharf has some amazing places too. It's a group of cargo containers which have been converted, and has lots of amazing small restaurants and eateries. Some don't have sit in tables, but are takeaways, but that can work if it's a nice day, right by the water.
