Does anyone journal?

I'm curious, does anyone keep a journal?
What do you write in it?
Do you have a physical journal or electronic?

I am thinking it might help my mental health but I'm not really sure what to write.

Physical, not consistently.

I try to write what went well at the end of the week ( normally Friday or Sunday).
If I'm feeling particularly stressed I will try to write out what is stressing me and list possible solutions. Eg recently the amount of help the kids still need around teatime, bathtime. I listed possible changes to help and have implemented one.

I journal in a notebook to brain dump. I write the date and time, then whatever is in my head.

Yes! I keep a physical journal and just update it when I feel the need to - to document anything I want to remember or when I need to vent somewhere that no ones feelings will get hurt. I write letters to loved ones who have passed and keep them in there along with all the silly little things my kids or husband give me - funny drawings, sweet notes that sort of thing.
I have a massive stationery addiction though because of it and obsessively buy stickers and washi tapes to make it pretty. I even brought a little black and white mobile printer for about £25 it prints on receipt paper so doesn't need ink but it lets me add in silly photos.

It has helped my mental health because it's a safe space to say what I need to say but don't feel I can. I like the idea that when I'm old I'll be able to look back and remember all the little things that had an effect on my life.

I love the idea of the printer.

Yes I do journal - maybe a rough summary of the day before and plans for the day ahead, and brain dumping as another pp said. I find it soothing . I don’t write every day.

I also have a massive stationery addiction and occasionally use washi tape and stickers, and often stick in postcards or tickets / receipt of somewhere I’ve been to or seen. It’s great to look back on as a visual reminder although I don’t reread it. And I list films / books / events / places I’ve been to at the back. Totally boring to anyone else but it’s written for my eyes only.

I love the idea of writing letters to loved ones who have passed ♥️

Yep, I have kept one on and off for over 40 years -- written ones in an actual book. I'm writing every day, at the moment, and enjoying it.

I'm always afraid of someone reading them, though, so I'm not always too open. However, I do find it really good for my mental health and for getting things out of my system. I also really love the physical act of writing with a lovely pen on nice paper -- that makes me feel good too.

Reading your diaries back years later is just fantastic and you realise that you forget so much of your life as the decades roll by.
