I've messed up my train tickets

I bought advance tickets ages ago for a trip tomorrow.

I've just looked at them to check the train time and I've clicked on the wrong railcard.

I've used the 16-25 rail card and it should be a Two Together one. The discount is 1/3 for both Railcards so I've actually paid more than I should have done because only one ticket is discounted, whereas both would have received the 1/3 discount if I'd got it right.

What's the worst that could happen? Journey is first thing tomorrow.

Can you pop up to the station now and ask them? They could probably reissue the ticket with the correct rail card listed - it sounds like only 1 needs changing.....I don't think they would offer the correct discount. ...or maybe they will. ..... it does depend if you got a super cheap deal for booking early.

I think if you can produce a railcard you will be fine.
I rarely get asked to produce my railcard, and for a year travelled on the wrong one (I accidentally clicked the wrong railcard rather than the wrong ticket).

You would have to be quite unlucky to meet such a stickler of an inspector, although they do exist.

No the tickets are from a Central London station, different operator to the local one.

To repurchase the tickets now would be almost double the cost and the original ones are non refundable.

Most tickets are refundable at the moment. I've just had to change some that would normally not be refunded.

You can change these tickets for a different date but you can't refund them

Ask at the station before you board the train. - I wouldn't want to travel with the wrong tickets because you can be charged the cost of travel on the day which can be huge.

In future go to your local station as soon as you realise - they may have been able to help.
