Anyone else - extreme routines?

This is lighthearted as just makes me smile. But my elderly parents daily routine is so worked out that I pretty much know what they are doing at any time of the day.
Their day is punctuated by meals, visiting the local shop, certain TV programmes, reading the newspapers and a daily walk. About the only thing that changes their routine is a family visitor, or a neighbour dropping in.
At the moment my mum will have started prepping dinner - prep starts at 4pmish and my dad will be reading a book on his kindle.
They seem happy, but I am wondering if anyone else's parents are like this?

yep! They've always been a bit like this - i could still tell you what we had for dinner on what night of the week when we were kids, my mum has a schedule for what day she does various housework tasks and she gets totally thrown if something disrupts her routine. Retirement has brought out the worst of it in them, they have far too many hours in the day that simple tasks now take forever! It drives me bonkers, the world will not end if you don't have dinner by 5:30pm!!

@emmathedilemma yes dinner is at a set time always! If it is served 10 minutes later my mum apologises for it being late. They are retired, it doesn't matter when they have dinner.
And yes they both take ages to do things. But a lot of older retired people are like this.

Yup my grandparents were regimental with their routine and DM has started developing the regimental routine since she retired!
