Tesco emailing subs & unavailable, no printed delivery notes

That's it, in a few weeks time, according to our delivery man, Tesco won't be sending a paper delivery note. This morning DH got the first email to say what would be subbed, what wasn't coming and short dates. That's fine, but he insisted in printed it, then Tesco arrived to say in a few weeks time they are moving to paperless delivery.

So heads up, if you like a printed delivery note to check off your items you'll be printing it yourself soon. Not sure how the other supermarkets do it but I hate change, something else to get used to!

It's 2022, paper is not needed! Who care about the subs - at least you've got food to eat!

They’ve just started this in the last month here. For the first two weeks they sent a paper delivery note as well but we’ve now had two weeks of emails only.
I like knowing the subs beforehand.

What has been annoying recently though is that I no longer get an estimated time on the app. My delivery is always booked for between 10 and 11 and up until a few weeks ago it’d further update to give me an estimated half hour time slot once the van was on the way.

I’ve had a delivery today and that one and last week’s both turned up early at 9.35.

Ooh good! Email much better. I don't tick anything off either. The only time we've had anything 'missing'; they had got crates missed up and it was v obvious it wasn't our stuff right away (our stuff was still in van). And I've used Tesco online shopping for years!

Sainsbury's have done this for ages. It's a good thing. Just put a list on your phone notes if you really need it. Tbh if you're delivery is often wrong I'd swap to somewhere more reliable.

Slightly related - does anyone know why they've changed the order of their 'usuals/favourites' on the app? It used to appear in order of section, all fruit and veg, moving on to dairy etc. Perfect.

Last night it was completely mixed up and I ended up losing track of what I'd already put in the basket and duplicating things, really bloody annoying.

Tell me I'm not the only one Sad

I'm glad - a physical receipt is pointless and such a waste of paper. Mine just ended up in the bin two seconds after the delivery was brought in.

I used to shop with Morrisons and we never had a paper receipt - it was never a problem, just check your e-mails in the morning :)

Tesco have done this for ages here. They email you hours before your order with a list of any subs and missing pens. I like it. Better for the planet!

Sirzy · 04/02/2022 11:50

Much easier knowing in advance what isn’t coming!

Now they just need a system where you don’t need to phone to request a refund

whiteworldgettingwhiter · 04/02/2022 11:51

Missing items, not pens!!

I have a Sainsbury's delivery every week. I just check my emails and know what's happening. So yesterday the bread I ordered wasn't available and I didn't want the sub so I knew to look out for that and send it back. I've already had the refund.
