No NHS dentists

I got in from a walk in the cold yesterday and realised there's some sensitivity in one of my back teeth that has a filling. It doesn't hurt yet but I can definitely tell there's an issue.

My dentist has recently gone private and are no longer doing any NHS work, and I can't find a single NHS dentist near me taking on patients. I'm a full time student and looking at the prices for a replacement filling privately has made me wince.

Does any wise soul know of any options I'm missing, or do I just need to suck it up and pay for a one off private treatment?

Is there a dental hospital near you?
If not having had toothache for 3 months last year, with access to a dentist, I would get your tooth sorted asap because otherwise you'll spend a fortune on antibiotics, painkillers and home remedies.

I had an infected wisdom tooth once and I was in absolute agony. I too couldn't find an NHS dentist so just presented at "A&E" at the dental hospital. Could you do that?

Thank you! There isn't a dental hospital but our local hospital does have an emergency out of hours dental service. I went there once with an abscess but I didn't think a filling replacement would warrant it! I'll have a google and see if there are any specific dental hospitals not too far away.
