Posted a few days ago about holiday recommendations for 2 young kids (2.5 and 6 months) at time for hols.

Lots of people said do something like eurocamps or centre parks eu if you want to leave the country (we do). I’ve looked at eurocamps and the ones I thought have looked really good have awful trip advisor ratings, can anyone recommend some good one?

Also has anyone been to village nature outside of Paris? What were your thoughts? Looks good online but trip advisor is not so positive. It’s quite expensive to so want to be sure it’s worth it

We used to do eurocamp but found it was cheaper to book direct with Yelloh as they own a lot of the sites that eurocamp use & are significantly cheaper. Our favourite so far has been Le Pin Parasol in the Vendèe but my DC were 4 & 7 when we last went!

Did you camp @Inmyownlittlecorner or stay in a lodge, with 2 littles we’ll be staying in a lodge.

I looked at that one but the trip advisers killed it for me, is there a lot to do in the area? X

We flew to Camping Fabulous is Italy, which Eurocamp subsell part of. The park was great. The static was basic, but clean. Also Club Farret (I think) in France, which was right on the beach.
If we went again, I'd search for the park using Eurocamp, and then look at a different company on the same site.
Kids were 4 and 6 at the oldest, so maybe 3 and 5 for first trip, and 46 when I did it without DH.

With kids the age your are, I think I'd eurocamp rather than centreparcs.

We stay in the static caravans.
The site was fun, the pool lovely & we did a few markets & ventured out to a few beaches. The restaurant wasn’t great but we weren’t expecting to eat out much. The on-site takeaway was good value, the shop not so much. TBH my children love a French supermarket so a couple of trips there took care of eating! We managed to fill the week!
The French lodges/caravans don’t usually have ovens just cookers & microwaves so take that into account when planning meals.I love doing these kinds of holidays because it’s something we did every year as children, just traveled around France staying in a couple of Keycamp/Haven sites in different areas. My sister does it too & always has lovely time!

We’ve been to Italy a few times staying in campsites. Can recommend Pra delle torri and Marina di Venezia, both on the Venetian riviera. We’ve stayed in a mobile and also a duplex kind of set up, both were great. I would also stay in properties owned by the campsite or look for ones owned by companies aimed at the German or Dutch clientele as the UK owned ones are a bit crap. Loads to do, beach and huge pool area with slides etc, play areas, cafes, crazy golf and badminton, bike hire and also opportunity to visit Venice. We got cheapish flights to Treviso and then a taxi to the site.

Are you driving or flying? And if you’re driving, I take it you wouldn’t want to have a very long drive with a 6 month old?

Kanfuzed123 · 05/02/2022 17:27

We’re thinking to fly to the destination and drive to the site, so ideally looking at within an hr of the airport?

The trip advisor reviews have really put me off, I’ve seen a decent one for a site outside of Bordeaux but so far that’s the only decent reviews I’ve seen it’s really putting me off. Even villages natures has quite poor reviews and for the cost it’s hardly great. If we did centre parks eu we wouldn’t really look to do additional activities as kids are too young would mainly be the pool, splash park, exploring and playground. Villages natures is good because we can do a day at Disney too but it’s substantially more expensive

I definitely recommend La Ravoire campsite near lake Annecy

I’ve done centre parcs in Belgium and Holland with my children - great value and wonderful holidays.
