What if you forget to report + LFT

Got 3 kids off school with covid. They all tested positive Tuesday evening after two days of being off with what I assumed was a stomach bug (nausea, diahorrea etc) but developed temps during the course of Tuesday. So we called them in and school have logged it and now they're better we are online learning. DH was going to go online and report the positive tests but has just admitted he completely forgot! To be fair it's been a bit of a crap week wfh around sick kids so ball was dropped on that.

Question is, does it matter? Do we need to have reported for school absence? And if so, if we report now does that mean the isolation has to start again from the time you report it or can you backdate it? Because in theory if they test negative on Monday they can go back to school Tues. Thanks!

I didn't report mine.
Many don't
It's fine

Nothing? Lots of people don’t report it, I didn’t in December. Just isolated.

I personally would report it so that it appeared on my NHS records for future reference. I think some people may not get paid/exempted from jobcentre appointments without official confirmation? I'd just put the test date as yesterday given it won't let you put two days ago.

If it won't affect you adversely though, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Don't stress. I don't think many people are reporting them anymore. DP had it last week. I told him to report it. He said he "didn't want the NHS to have his details." I'm fairly sure they alreAdy have them for fuck sake.

Thanks! The only reason I thought it might be necessary was for school absence to be authorised but if others haven't and it's been ok I'm sure it'll be fine.
