At the end of my tether with suspected genital eczema. Advice needed

Desperately looking for some advice.
For years on and off I’ve been diagnosed with thrush and frequently get abscesses on labia majora area. From my first pregnancy I tore pretty badly and had perianal stitches, frequently get piles from first birth also.
I’ve been checked for stis in past all came back clear, at one flare up I was determined I had herpes but doctor was adamant it was irritation and to simply bathe in oliatum.
Right now I am having the worse time I’ve done nothing but cry for two days. The skin involving my perianus and labia majora around it is red inflamed and painful, I also have terrible piles. Treating the piles and as for vuval area I’ve been prescribed antibiotics for uti, 3 dose course of thrush tablets and cream over 9 days. I’ve changed all my washing powder to non bio and botanical skin sensitive conditioner, I’ve washed in hibiscrub, bathed in Epsom salts, tried dermovate and hydrocortisone in affected area.
My discharge is relatively normal, however my periods have been getting further apart from 26 day cycle to 36 day cycle on average. I also had a baby 11 months ago so put this down to that.
I am at my whits end, I am in so much pain, and my skin feels raw. I can’t get into my doctors I’ve tried a local gym clinic and still waiting on a call.
I have not spots or ulcers on the area just raging redness. Am in agnoy having to wear underwear and pants and I can’t wipe properly going to toilet as the pain is shocking.

I just really don’t know what to, none of this probably makes sense and rambling but I was just hoping that somebody has been here before or can give me some advice. Am sorry for the long post.

I had severe genital eczema. I went to the doctor and she prescribed a particular sort of steroid cream to use until symptoms eased. She advised that I never wash my genital area with soap, soap creme, liquid soap or anything like it again. Instead she said I should use aqueous cream, and I got some from the pharmacy. I have used it ever since on my fanny (and on my face, which also reacts very badly to anything else including moisturiser!)

You poor thing - you're really suffering aren't you? It sounds horrendous. Nowhere near as bad as you but I've had perineal itching for the last few years (assuming its peri) and have tried sudocream and thrush cream with varying degrees of success. The only thing which really does reduce the itching is to wash the area gently (I tend to rub the whole area too hard as I don't want to smell like mouldy old woman - I'm 53) then dry with a hairdryer for a couple of minutes, ensuring I dry my bum crack properly too. Like PP avoid scented anything, be gentle(!) and check your loo roll. Mine is def exacerbated by loo roll but haven't narrowed down to a particular brand yet.

Hope you get some relief soon xx

Flexural/genital Psoriasis can also be like that. Red, shiny, prone to splitting or blistering from clothing - horrible. In the worst flares, bathing in psoriderm helped, followed by strong steroid ointment for as long as necessary, then an emollient when it had calmed down enough to stop using the steroid.

I did react very strongly to diprobase/doublebase and can't use either, as they both cause the same burning, itching agony as the psoriasis.

Thank you so much everybody for taking the time to reply and give advice! Already in the process of re-washing my underwear minus the fabric conditioner. Will also try and find non bleached loo roll. Had a telephone consultation with doctor this morning and yet again feel fobbed off. Didn’t manage to get a face to face appointment it seems virtually impossible!
Dr is under the impression that it’s definitely not LS as in his words it’s vaginal atrophy which I haven’t got (this is without physically seeing it for himself). He said going off past history he is almost sure it’s genital dermatitis and that I shouldn’t be using steroids. He’s prescribed an antibiotic/antibacterial cream and emolument to wash with and gave me a week to try and then get back in touch.
I am very sceptic about using this as am scared it might make things worse, so pretty unsure what to do.
I’ve looked up the cost of paying private to have hormones tested and see a skin specialist but it’s so costly am unsure what to do as we haven’t exactly got the cash lying around handy. But at this point I think it might be the best option. I asked to be referred but in their words I haven’t been the go enough to warrant a referral. But the fact of the matter is it’s impossible to see the gp. Am at my whits end!
Sorry for the rant, I appreciate so much everybody has said I feel like I’ve gotten further with you all than medical professionals.

E mail surgery pointing out that if you cannot see them how they can decide you cannot have a referral. Tell them you awaiting their reply with interest

That sounds so frustrating for you. I really would recommend having a quick look at pruritus ani just to see if it rings any bells

Good luck Thanks
