Come ON MNers help me out.

Pre-covid MIL was childcare. Dropped in PJs ( i commuted to London) She'd get ready for school and drop and pick up and give dinner and drop to clubs!

During covid quite stressed as we were pulled apart same and everyone else.

Another baby later and MIL has resumed super nanny role and collects baby so I can cycle older kids to school. Helps with pickups when we have after school clubs at different times and will generally do ANYTHING asked of her as long as she is around...

I want to get something but maybe a regular something any ideas?

I was thinking flowers? Ahe does love a vase of flowers....any other better ideas?

Thanks x

Yep, having read your last post, it sounds like a day together...(shopping and lunch?) would be good too.

But to be honest, a big hug and "do you have any idea just how much I appreciate and love you, MIL?" is probably the best possible thank you.

Magazine subscription, nice coffee, flowers make it a relaxing pack.
A theatre trip with you

A friend of mine has a DM that sounds as brilliant as your MIL, and she pays for her annual holiday every year.

@seekinglondonlife that's lovely! We do when possible always get them things they need BEFORE they're able to buy them themselves (new TV, Alexa etc) but they wont ever accept BIG things - she wouldn't accept a holiday no way - they talk about taking us all away and there are 11 of us kids/grandkids!!

I am going to get a nice handmade card, some subscription flowers and probably try and book an afternoon tea possibly ask one of my SIL...the other one is Biscuit. I have seen another few little bits on etsy.

She's quite hard to buy for as she doesn't really want/need much,

Imagine an old Granny with a 1000 photos of family around the walls. Sunday roast every weekend, a few nick knacks but not 100s, grandfather clock but in her early 60s :-). She is far from an old granny but is just very simple and kind.

We stayed there for about 6months when renovating our house and she cried when we left that how sweet she is. Bless her.
