Is it worth going on holiday this year?

It will be our first family holiday if we go this year. My little boy turns 3 this year and we are dying to get away!

Tbh I don't follow everything about coronavirus so don't even know what's going on and what isn't.

But is it worth us booking and going this year?

Yes definitely. If you're fully vaccinated there won't be many issues at all. I suspect by summer most countries will have dropped a lot of restrictions.

We are (hopefeully/fingers crossed/don't want to jinx it) skiing on the 12th for a week and quite frankly that has been a total ball ache due to covid. However I believe that this is mainly because Italy are stricter than other destinations and you require all sorts of proof of vaccinations, and paperwork there that I don't think you need elsewhere. If we hadn't booked this 2 years ago and had it bounced I wouldn't have bothered tbh, so stressful.

However we are also hoping to go abroad in May and August and have holidays booked for those months and I am not stressed about those at all - as PP said I think restrictions will have lifted alot more by then.

Go for it.

We have one booked for abroad in August so just keeping our fingers crossed, and as another pp said, restrictions are slowly being dropped everywhere so let's hope it stays that way! If you're looking at going abroad then if you're both fully vaccinated and you have a 3 year old, I think you'll be in a pretty easy position. Go for it!

We have a uk one booked. I know of too many families who've had someone test positive whilst abroad and get stuck in a hotel room at their own expense for a couple of weeks.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/02/2022 14:48

I'm thinking about Sweden. No testing required if fully vaccinated.

AmbushedByCake1 · 02/02/2022 14:54

Yes definitely, go! Just make sure you check and double check the requirements of where you want to travel to.

Porthia · 02/02/2022 16:15

I hope so! We have Spain and France booked for later in the year. I think if fully vaccinated it should be ok… also hoping that no one actually tests positive while there as that would be more of a pain tbh!

Clarabellawilliamson · 02/02/2022 16:23

Yes, it's worth it. But with a 3 year old you could have a fab holiday pootling around in the UK rockpooling. Unless you live at the seaside and do that all the time I suppose!

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 02/02/2022 17:07

I was wondering this too OP, I cannot decide as I do not want to go anywhere where I am baking in the sun in a bloody mask! I am hanging on a bit longer to book.

We are going to see family abroad in February and have a week booked in the Easter holiday.

Still holding out for Summer though, waiting what happens over the next 2-3 months.
