Does anyone remember Channel 4 showing old American shows?

I was talking with a friend about shows we used to watch and I mentioned Channel 4 showing old American shows like Rawhide, The Lone Ranger, Mork and Mindy and Happy Days. She's the same age as me (Born in 84) and doesn't remember them being on at all and thinks that they wouldn't have been shown then.

I'm sure they were shown in the '90s? Does anyone else remember this?

Yeah watched loads of these early evenings on Channel 4. I loved a series called the Invaders, I think, were aliens were taking on human forms and just disappeared in a zap when they were discovered? Would love to rewatch that one.

Also loved Bewitched and Mr Edd

I remember Happy Days, Roseanne, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, I couldn't tell you if they were all on C4 though.

I do miss the early 00's BBC showing Cagney & Lacey, Quincy, Diagnosis Murder.

I know this is an old thread but, for any other fans of old American TV shows, I Dream of Jeannie is being rerun on Rewind TV. Great for a bit of nostalgia.

Channel 95 on Freeview, 182 on Sky.

The original showings of the Waltons and Happy Days predated channel 4.

Of course, considering the age of the shows but my thread was specifically about the repeats in the ‘90’s.

Just think how our kids could benefit from seeing these shoes instead of the trash that's on tv now!

Suitable for all the family rather than aimed at only kids or adults. So wholesome. Sigh.

Shows not shoes 😄

Although rewatching I Dream of Jeannie has reminded me how overtly sexist this era was!
