painless migraine

I have been dealing with painless migraine for 7 years now.
I get extreme fatigue, brain fog, dizzy, twitchy eye, sensitivity to light and sounds and feeling generally hungover from life.
I was diagnosed years ago by the ENT department and recently conformed by one neurologist but have not got another neurologist doubting the diagnosis. I spend my life managing symptoms.
I am feeling a bit fed up and alone in it all as I constantly doubt myself and my symptoms. I was wondering if anyone else can relate and share what might help them, any migraine spoonies out there?
Thank You!

I’ve had flashing light episodes for years now sometimes they last half an hour sometimes minutes only. I never get pain with these but discussed my concerns with Moorfields (detached retina history) it’s definitely migraine related. I take Propanol to help prevent the bad headaches. Without them I had five years of hell with migraines. My last one was Christmas night it last about 18 hours. Hugs so do empathy with you.

Hi Holothane thank you for empathising, it means a lot! Sorry you struggle as well. I am pleased you have found some medication that is helpful for you!

I suffer from two sorts of migraines - sometimes with dreadful pain for many hours and other times with a flashy light aura which may or may not lead to short lived painful headache. I find taking just paracetamol when aura comes on can sometimes limit those ones.

But I also now take propranolol twice a day which reduces the frequency of the painful ones and use a mouth guard at night to stop teeth grinding which seems to reduce chance of getting an aura migraine. I also have triptans on prescription which sometimes help curb the non-aura type. When they work, it's an incredibly quick and complete fix.

Do try out a few simple things like this which might help.

Living with migraines is so horrible. I really empathise and recognise the symptoms you describe.

I have this. Got first one when I was pregnant ten years ago. Exactly the symptoms you discuss, no headache, sometimes pins and needles too. My mum has the same and she also has MS so I was worried when it first started but like you I was told migraine by the neurologist. Every so often I wonder if that is really what it is.

I am on bisoprolol for a heart issue and it doesn't seem to help me. Sometimes if I take paracetamol when it first starts it will help, but only if I catch it early. The only other things that make it better for me is staying away from screens (but they are my job full time), and keeping to a routine. If I sleep in I get one. If i am stressed. Also triggered by hormones. They tend to come in waves and it makes everything a struggle, like being drunk all the time (and I don't drink!). I HATE them.

Thank you for sharing Madrush I will have a think about those different medications I have tried a couple but always good to explore.

Kairi I empathise with what you have shared so much, I also started during pregnancy, and also wondered if it was MS, it does feel like being drunk and stress and hormones ipact. How validating to hear someone else have the same experience! Thank You!

I have vestibular migraines which cause dizziness and that drunk feeling, often without a headache. It's worse for me around my period and also happens a lot because if the perimenopause. I tend to get the when tired and run down. I hope you can get some relief.

Hi
I have similar symptoms, I stumbled across this blog the other day, I have been looking into neck instability and brain sensitization as a cause of symptoms. So far It’s got me very intrigued. I have begun suffering with vestibular migraine. I find if I get dehydrated it can trigger an attack.
