21 tax year

Hello all,

Looking for some advise. I was previously self employed December 19- September 19. I paid a reputable accounts company to look after my books and tbh they were nothing short of unless.

I asked prior to Christmas last year was everything complete and they said yes. Then in April last year they filed my tax wrong for my company and I was fined. I then went pack and they told me to use covid as an excuse which I didn’t really want to do considering it wouldn’t be the truth.

I went back and asked if they had done anything necessary and was there anything else I needed to do which they responded with no.

Christmas time comes this year and long behold another email from them telling me they need to submit my tax for the whole 21. Having previously told they’d completed this I was confused and it turns out they hadn’t submitted April- September and needed to do it urgently. Today is the deadline and now I’m sat with a 2k tax bill that needs to be paid today. I’m currently in the process of buying a house and don’t have 2k to find in a few hours.

Any suggestion on what I can do? I was paid less initially due to tax in my new role so I assumed I’d already paid it. I’ve got money in savings but that is tied up in the house I’m buying.

I am not an expert- and I'm not clear if this is personal tax or a company.
