Damn, this Lumea is changing my life!

I am hairy. Very hairy. I've had tests and all sorts but it seems I'm just very hairy. It has made me very unhappy and self conscious and to be honest has limited my activity. So I bought a Lumea and I've only used it three times and it's already working! I am so happy! My tache is GONE already, pretty much. Beard almost, and my bikini line too. It is incredible! I had heard good things but I didn't think I'd see results this quickly. It is like a major source of stress is disappearing, literally, from me with every little flash of the bulb. It is an amazing feeling.

Yeah, it’s pretty amazing isn’t it? And you’ll save money/time over the years too. Not to mention pain free!

I was looking at one of these and then got pregnant so didn't buy one. Glad to know it's working as it will be back on the wish list after baby is born. How long does it take you each time?

cherrybonbons · 29/01/2022 08:45

The BEST investment ever.

bonfireheart · 29/01/2022 08:53

Love to know which model you have OP.

TheWeeDonkey · 29/01/2022 09:18

I got one a few years ago recommended from here. Like you I'm naturally hairy, the change has been amazing! I rarely need to shave my underarms and legs anymore they're almost completely hairless and my bikini line is much neater now too. Saved me a fortune on razors and I don't need to think about it when I go on holiday either.
I have to say it's one of my best MN recommendations ever!

Agadorsparticus · 29/01/2022 09:22

Expensive but amazing. I'm tache free and have 2 eyebrows now. My pits are virtually hair free, the odd ones crop up but I'll shave every fortnight rather than daily. My legs are very patchy, this is the most time consuming part, not to mention the contortions of doing the backs.

whysonasty · 29/01/2022 14:15

How often do MNers use it? And did you work your way up in strength and frequency? I have one (different brand). Only used a few times as I became skeptical. But your thread is making me think I should get back into it!

whysonasty · 29/01/2022 14:15

And how long did it take to get to the point where you don’t really need to shave anymore?!

megletthesecond · 29/01/2022 14:17

I'm a year in and it's finally working. Been a long painful, itchy slog though.

whysonasty · 29/01/2022 14:17

Also, can you use it around the… err… back?

FixItUpChappie · 29/01/2022 14:19

I have one I haven't used it yet. May I ask...is it painful? Also does it cause redness if you use it on you face?

Scottishflower65 · 29/01/2022 14:22

I maybe need to shave parts of legs once a month now, that’s it. Seems to be around boney areas such as knees.

Scottishflower65 · 29/01/2022 14:23

Slight pain but nothing a couple of paracetamol won’t numb.

BelleEnderman · 29/01/2022 14:23

What model did you buy? I'm thinking of getting one to use on face and not sure which would be best?

Snoopsnoggysnog · 29/01/2022 14:29

Sorry for ignorance but I don’t know much about these and everyone seems to rave about them.

Don’t you have to shave the hair first? How on earth do people do this on their face?

Also is it UV light / skin cancer risk?? Sorry if these are daft questions

bettertocryinamercedes · 29/01/2022 14:33

Following to see which model the OP has. I would get it for my top lip alone!

AffableApple · 29/01/2022 14:51

Sorry, how much are you all getting paid for this guff?

Devo1818 · 29/01/2022 15:01

OP, what is your body hair colour and skin tone please? I am quite pale but not super pale with dark hair and want to know how likely I would get results.

eldorado02 · 29/01/2022 16:37

I sold my Lumea as it didn’t work on my hair (in fact, I’m sure it made me hairier!). I’m now having electrolysis and it’s the most painful thing in the world, but effective. I’m very jealous of those for whom the Lumea works, as it’s a great concept!

Zazdar · 29/01/2022 17:05

I’ve been told that they don’t work, but has anybody actually tried one on blonde hair?

TheFlis12345 · 29/01/2022 17:15

They won’t work on blonde hair, IPL relies on a clear colour difference between hair and skin colour.

I first used mine about 7 years ago. After 3 months fortnightly use my armpit hair was all gone and it’s never grown back since! I get the odd hair on my legs which I zap every few months but that’s it. Honestly, it’s life changing!

TheFlis12345 · 29/01/2022 17:17

@Devo1818 as long as your skin is Caucasian and your hair dark, it should work, you don’t need to be super pale. An Indian friend of mine used one and it worked for her.

LoveMae · 29/01/2022 22:39

Haha! I feel like that about my neck, it's definitely hairier since I started using it.

However, my tache disappeared and never came back. Confused

LoveMae · 29/01/2022 22:40

Oh and you're meant to shave before using, but I could never do that on my face, so I just use it as is and cope with the burning smell Grin
