Can you share an afternoon tea?

Going out tomorrow with a friend for afternoon tea. There is always way too much with AT.

Can you share one?

Obviously I can ask the hotel tomorrow but is this a social faux pas?

We had one each. Got at least half boxed up and gave some to DD.

I'd much prefer just a proper cream tea. Grin

@HardbackWriter

I think the reason it's so big is that you're supposed to eat it slowly over a long time - which is also why halving the cost but still taking up the same space feels cheeky.
and @TolkiensFallow, how is it cheeky? Does this mean it's wrong to go in on your own as you will be taking up a whole table where they could seat 2? People do go in and just have coffee. Are they being cheeky for taking up a table not ordering a whole meal? The venue is getting more than a couple of coffees and a slice of cake out of them so no one would give a rat's arse

Yes, its annoying, far too much food usually and I don't want it boxed up for more of the same later. I like the sandwiches and scones but don't want cakes as well.

My friend and I share an afternoon tea at the St Pancras hotel in London once a year. We have done so at other places and it is never a problem. We just pay for an extra pot of tea.
