Is £595 + VAT a reasonable conveyancing fee for house sale in NE England?

My mum recently passed away and I'm selling her £450k house in the north east of England. I live in London where everything is more expensive so it's difficult to judge prices - the estate agent's recommended solicitor's conveyancing fee for the sale is £595 + vat. Is this reasonable? (I want to avoid getting multiple quotes if possible, but will do if it looks like we're being charged too much).

I paid around £700 inc VAT for a structural survey on a old house in November (in NW) so seems about right.

Our solicitor fees are very similar to what you've been quoted, and includes searches.

Seems very reasonable indeed! We were quoted £795 + VAT in Yorkshire last year.

Yes, ours was £800 for a house of £800k, I have bought BTLs & was charged about £500 for each of those previously and they were less than £100k each so seems v reasonable. In Yorkshire

Sounds like a good price. Where in NE are you? If in the Newcastle area, I recommend McKeags, they did ours and were wonderful from start to finish.

Hi I used an online conveyancer far better than any I have used for previous sales.
