Clever place to keep the WiFi Router password?

StickerPlace · 27/01/2022 13:36

Just that really.

I have the sticker floating about threatening to get itself lost (it's also on the router itself but it's a pain to turn it around)

Anywhere obvious and really useful that I can stick it? Or something to stick it to?

I'm sure some Mumsnetters have some great ideas that I haven't thought of.

Inside the fuse box door

emmathedilemma · 27/01/2022 15:47

paperclip it to the kitchen calendar (assuming you have one)

We have it for guests.
Snoopsnoggysnog · 27/01/2022 17:55

We had a sticker - it’s stuck to a magnet and on the fridge

GiantKitten · 27/01/2022 18:01

I have an image saved in my phone, plus a handwritten post-it note stuck inside a cabinet door in the kitchen (with blutack so it stays put)

The official card is somewhere about too…Confused

Monkeybutt1 · 27/01/2022 19:20

Where do you store other passwords? If recommend using something like Lastpass to keep it safe.
Please don't keep it on show.

ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 27/01/2022 19:22

Oh, I thought i=you meant to hide it from pre teens who misuse roblox. (That might just be me).

Stuck on the underside of a kettle would be my guess in that case. Otherwise just put it in your diary.

Firesidefox · 27/01/2022 19:23

Take a pic, save to Favourites, and also email yourself the photo with 'wifi password' as the subject so it's easy to find in future.

LosingTheWill2022 · 27/01/2022 19:26

@ShirleyPhallus

Change the password to something that’s memorable and chuck it away

Back of a photo frame

Or

Back of tv remote

Applebrewsterstea · 27/01/2022 19:30

Stuck to inside of the ingredients cupboard door where annoying relatives will never find it. Why visit and spend all the time on your phone. Might as well stay at home and WhatsApp me!

pastabest · 27/01/2022 19:31

we have ours stuck to the TV remote so its there when the tv forgets it was ever connected to the internet (frequently)

TurquoiseDragon · 27/01/2022 19:47

I keep a favourited photo on the phone, and the actual tab is hidden in a drawer.

StCharlotte · 27/01/2022 19:49

There's one attached to the router and one held by a magnet on the microwave.

Pompom2367 · 27/01/2022 19:52

We selotape ours to the back of the tv

FinallyHere · 27/01/2022 19:54

@Brunilde

Take a photo on your phone and save in its own album so it's easy to find. Then put the sticker somewhere safe never to be found again
This ^

It's what I do.

iklboo · 27/01/2022 20:20

Why would you bother?

When you get new tech & it needs linking.

torquewench · 27/01/2022 20:22

Isn't it on the bottom of your actual router?

myyellowcar · 27/01/2022 20:23

Weve got ours stuck to the TV remote and that’s handy!

emmathedilemma · 27/01/2022 22:09

@user1471505356

Why would you bother?
Because every teen / tween who ever comes to stay with thank you for it!!
alwaysmovingforwards · 27/01/2022 22:21

Stuck on the inside door of the cupboard under the stairs.

HarleyQuinnFan · 27/01/2022 22:27

I have battery operated candles on the mantle piece. The sticker with the Wi-Fi password is now stuck to the bottom of one of them.
This means we know where it is at all times, but strangers would have no clue.

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 27/01/2022 22:30

On fridge. In your phone.

WhiteCatmas · 27/01/2022 22:32

Change the default router password for God’s sake.
To something over 10 characters long, preferably including a special character.
Throw the default password away.
Save the new password on your phone as a contact or send it to yourself via email.
