FLUFFY BEDDING does it upset your tuble dryer?

Riveting thread of the day:

So that fluffy/fleecy/teddy bear bedding - if you've got some and you dry it in a tumble dryer does it cause any issues?

Washed DDs new teddy bedding for the first time and my dryer keeps turning off and telling me it's all done when it's not! Still v hot and damp.

I've just spent a happy hour googling trying to diagnose the problem. All is clean - condenser ect. Wondering if it's the bedding itself?

TIA

See now - i've stopped with the fluffy things and put a couple of normal sheets in there and it's doing them fine so far (crosses fingers).

I think i'm talking to myself here.
Never mind, nothing unusual

I have a big Sherpa fleece blanket - after washing, I have to spin it twice before putting it on to dry otherwise it will just be hot and damp.

Could you try that?

gluenotsoup · 26/01/2022 14:51

Did you put them in from soaking wet? I tend to dry them naturally to about 80%dry then finish it off in the dryer. The dryer hasn’t sulked about it yet😂.
I talk to myself too .

I find it doesn’t dry on an automatic cycle, I have to give it a set time.

Mrsjayy · 26/01/2022 14:57

I'd give it a extra spin in the machine dry on a cotton low programme. I never dry fleece clothes in the dryer but I appreciate bedding is a faff to dry in the house.

Mrsjayy · 26/01/2022 14:59

Tumble dry* also are you drying other things if you are split the load and it should dry evenly.

onedayoranother · 26/01/2022 14:59

No haven't noticed. Only time my washer/dryer doesn't dry properly is if I overfill it.

Ahhhhhh -

thank you all :) Flowers

(Dryer is still going with the normal sheets in it as we speak)

So yes it seems like the 'take it out the washer and bung it in the dryer' on the only setting i ever use 'cupboard dry' setting just doesn't quite work for fleecy things. OK next time i'll try your suggestions.

I'm just so glad it's not the dryer going wrong! Can't afford a new one right now.

@Mrsjayy yeah, now you mention it in the past i have washed DDs fleecy blanket throw thing and it's all been ok, BUT they've been in with clothes ect.

This problem has come up with putting in just the teddy fleece double duvet cover on it's own.
