Would you reheat chicken takeaway curry?

Ordered yesterday. We only ate half. We also don't have a microwave so would need to be reheated in oven.

Yup

mowglika · 25/01/2022 22:46

Of course! Why not? I would use the hob though if it’s a curry with gravy

DomWoofer · 25/01/2022 22:46

Of course.

Leftover curry is the best curry.

Oven might fry it out though. Put it over a pan of simmering water with a pot lid over the plate. Make sure it’s piping hot all the way through.

Absolutely! 20 mins on 200! It's the best but about ordering curry. You can freeze it too and then when you get enough you can have mystery curry night because you forget the lids.. or maybe that's me!!

minipie · 25/01/2022 22:47

Yup. Just get it really hot, all the way through.

DramaAlpaca · 25/01/2022 22:47

Definitely. It tastes even better the next day.

minipie · 25/01/2022 22:48

Agree hob may be better. Either way, a bit of extra water may be needed

SpiderHeart · 25/01/2022 22:48

Thanks I was a bit worried about the chicken

OP posts:
ufucoffee · 25/01/2022 22:49

No. But only because I eat leftover takeaways cold.

RubyReigns · 25/01/2022 22:49

Yes I can’t finish a full curry so always reheat the next day. In original foil container, cover with kitchen foil, 20 mins at 200. I usually warm left over bahjis and popadom too but only a few mins for the bahjis and less than a minute for the popadom.

NoSquirrels · 25/01/2022 22:50

Delicious. Of course! I’d do it on the job if no microwave.

NoSquirrels · 25/01/2022 22:50

hob, obviously Grin

ConstanceL · 25/01/2022 22:51

@SpiderHeart

Thanks I was a bit worried about the chicken
Has is been left out since yesterday or been in the fridge? If in the fridge it'll be perfectly fine, no reason why it wouldn't be, enjoy!
MrsClatterbuck · 26/01/2022 01:05

We do this sometimes. Left over Curry is stored in fridge and then reheated the next day or the day after. I would actually heat it in a saucepan if you don't have a microwave. Easier to check it's hot throughout.

DPotter · 26/01/2022 01:37

Did so this evening - well DP did. Heated it up on the hob.

It's re-heating rice you need to be really careful about - as long as the chicken is hot all the way through, it's fine

Forgotthespuds · 26/01/2022 01:39

I wouldn't to be honest (I would probably eat it cold whilst standing at the fridge)

KloppsTeeth · 26/01/2022 01:45

We order extra curries so that we can have them the next day if we are having a busy couple of days with no time to cook. We don’t reheat rice.

Blackmagicqueen · 26/01/2022 01:54

Adding tiny bit pf cold water to rice and covering over helps it not dry out when reheating gently. Then fluff with fork.

Pyewhacket · 26/01/2022 02:13

Get a microwave

mjf981 · 26/01/2022 05:21

Everything but the rice. Rice is one of the biggest food poisoning culprits.

gamerchick · 26/01/2022 06:42

Curry's better the next day anyway. I don't bother with rice though. Chuck it in a pan, stick a lid on and heat through.

MinorWomensWhiplash1 · 26/01/2022 07:49

I eat it cold! Don’t reheat the rice though due to potential bacillus cereus poisoning.

gamerchick · 26/01/2022 07:52

Never thought I'd hear of heathens that eat curry cold Grin me gobs shriveling up at the thought.

orangejuicer · 26/01/2022 07:54
