Books books and more books!

Are there any recommendations for companies that buy books? I'm doing a house clearance and we have 100s of books. Paperback novels, history, natural history, gardening, cookery, nature, crime thrillers and random gift type books.
I don't want to see them for pennies and would prefer them to go to a charity than for tuppence or to a second hand book seller.
North west area.
Thank you.

It's worth downloading Zifft because you can use the app to get an instant quote just by scanning the barcode. My guess is that you might identify a few that are worth selling, but you'll find a lot won't be accepted or would only be worth pennies.

WeBuyBooks also does the same and I find they usually accept more than Ziffit does.

Otherwise try ringing round your local second hand bookshops, they may be interested.

I've used We Buy Books and have found them excellent. The app is very simple to use. They advise about how many boxes to pack your books into, provide labels ( at no cost but you will need a printer ).
I've scanned books on a Sunday. Had them picked up on Monday. Money in my bank account by Thursday.

I can't really comment on prices because, to be honest , I just wanted to clear some space and some of the books were a bit niche ( degree books) for the local charity shop.

If you don't mind donating them, then many National Trust properties will take them for their second hand bookshops at their properties. We got rid of several box loads of books last year like that, and also gave to Oxfam for their bookshop. We had tried to sell on line first, but found the companies weren't interested in a lot of the books and so it wasn't worth doing. The way we did it at least meant that two charities got something out of it.
