Evening activities - reading, puzzles, what else??

What does everyone do in the evening that doesn't involve a screen? I'm trying to stop watching so much TV and spending hours trawling the Internet on my phone! I love reading and have started doing jigsaw puzzles and a bit of basic embroidery with starter kits from Etsy. Anything else I can do? Can anyone recommend some interesting puzzle books, like sudoku etc?

I love The Times crossword books. The Guardian crosswords online are also good... although that requires a screen.

In the evenings I also enjoy:
Reading books.
Listening to audiobooks and podcasts.
Playing board games. We like to take scrabble to the local pub and nurse some drinks by the fireplace.
Making beeswax candles using little containers I find in charity shops. Some I keep, some I give as gifts.

I also play video games which are of course on a screen, but I think this is more engaging and worthwhile than mindlessly scrolling the whole night.

Exercise of some sort, or meditation.

I enjoy these puzzles - logic based www.whsmith.co.uk/products/puzzler-hanjie-no271-special-issue/9771746121700.html

I enjoy writing letters to friends and crocheting.

Thank you - podcasts, origami and crocheting all appeal so will look into those. Like the look of the hanjie puzzle books, I'll order one. For someone of reasonable intelligence, I just cannot do crosswords. I don't know why and wish I could!

I like colouring while I listen to a podcast or audiobook.

Nonograms are good too - a kind of logic puzzle. I do them on my tablet, so still screen time but not mindless scrolling.

Some good examples of screen time (in my opinion!)

Scrabble on the iPad. Play against the computer or pass and play mode with someone else.
Video games.
Guardian online crossword.
Play along to the entire back catalogue of Countdown or Cats does Countdown online.
Language learning apps.
Lectures on various subjects on YouTube.
