Stupid Q - Hot Water Timer settings? What are yours?

This sounds stupid I know. For years I have kept my hot water on constant as Husband and I used to work shifts, our kids do a lot of sport, so shower used to be in use at all times of the day.
Now though me and H work 9-5 and the kids have moved out.
So I'm thinking it might save some money to put the water on timed but I don't want to run out.
We are up about 6, out of the house by 7.30.
Home 5ish, bed by 10. Both shower daily.

Is a hour in the morning and evening enough or does it make no difference and keep it on constant?

2 person household, one wfh one working mostly nights.

Our hot water is only on for 20 minutes before we get up 20 minutes around lunchtime and 20 minutes late afternoon.

That gives us plenty of hot water for me to shower most mornings and for him to shower or have a bath most days. However our kitchen sink is fed by our qooker not our hot water tank.

15 mins every morning. Extra 15 mins on the evenings that ds wants a bath. (3-4 times a week. So 2 hrs 45 per week.

We do an hour before we get up and an hour around 5ish.

We have small DC so often bath them in the evening.

This works absolutely fine. Occasionally we’ll put it on for another hour at the weekend if it’s getting towards lunchtime and we haven’t showered yet and the kids need a bath.

Do you have an electric shower?

dementedpixie · 20/01/2022 16:23

We have an electric shower so it heats its own water. Hot water is on a couple of hours am and pm and that gives plenty for our needs

Ovenaffray · 20/01/2022 16:26

My water is on half an hour a day morning and event and boosted if we want a bath. The shower is electric though.

OverByYer · 20/01/2022 16:53

Shower isn't electric, thanks for the replies. Im off to set my clock....if if can figure it out!
