Snowsuit variations

Just after some advice really, never used a snowsuit last year as milder and due to his arrival etc, but now looking at getting one for the colder climes we are having, what is the difference in terms of style, seen some with 2 zips down the front, a zip down the front and inside leg and also ones that zip down the front and thru the legs and up the bum area slightly, which do you find best and what are the positives in each different design please

We much preferred the two zips style –much less contortion required to get baby in (especially as DD has long legs) and much easier to open it up or partly or completely remove it to adjust temperature when you go into a shop or café or whatever.

We moved to a good winter coat and warm overtrousers (or a blanket in the buggy) for the winter she was 1, though, so you might find something like that better for this winter.

Highly recommend Tuppence and Crumble star wrap - lasted longer as not as tight and so much easier to get on and off!

Hate all of them honestly. They are such a pain to get on and off and so over warm that you have to get the baby ready last and undress them as soon as you get indoors before they melt! Plus they are too bulky for car seats or carriers, so you can only use them in the buggy.

I always find that a footmuff and a blanket tucked into it as well as a warm cardigan (or jacket) and hat works much better and is easier to use.

I never bothered. Cosy toes on the buggy and a coat was easier

If your child is already 1 then I would size up and try and get one to last for next year too. It's useful for proper cold and snow, but a bit warm for a lot of our winter.

If your child is walking I would go for a cosy coat with some thick waterproof wader/dungaree style trousers over.

I'd get a footless one if over one years , they tend to have just one zip. But I think next prob do the two zip but once they stand it's easier to slide in the legs standing.
