I'm saving hard because I'm determined that this is the year I'll buy a Cartier love bangle.

Anyone have one and recommend? Anything else I should be looking at? Budget will be 3.5K

I came on to say cartier love bangle! I'd love one too

FromEden · 17/01/2022 20:18

I have one and recommend! The only problem is it does get a few scratches if you wear it all the time, which I do so I would reconsider if that will bother you

JohnnyEyebrows · 17/01/2022 20:21

I don't think scratched bother me as I'm a big believer in just wearing something and trying not to be too precious about it.

I've wanted one for years and now I can't help but wonder if it's a ridiculous extravagance

Well it's up to you. If you can afford it and it's something you really want then why not? But then on the other hand, if you have to "save hard ", can you really say the money couldn't be better spent elsewhere? I'm sure you'll have some people telling you it's a ridiculous extravagance too. Its your money, only you can decide what you think about it!

Enzbear · 17/01/2022 20:55

Juste un clou bracelet

emsyj37 · 17/01/2022 20:57

I also came on to say Cartier love bangle Grin - get one and enjoy it!

buckeejit · 17/01/2022 21:01

I'd get a cheap plated one & wear it for a couple of weeks to see if you don't already wear a bangle. I prefer bracelets that move. It's a lovely one though

Sittinginthesand · 17/01/2022 21:03

I’m going to be very boring and say that if you have to save - and especially if you have to save hard, you can’t afford it. Go antique - much better value!

JohnnyEyebrows · 17/01/2022 21:08

Oh I can afford it! Don't worry about that! I'm saving and I'll be there in another 5 months or so. I could buy it now but I want to buy using my 'disposable' cash.

Don't want a cheap one to try out I don't think.

Nearly 4K is a considered purchase though and I want to absolutely love it. So good to hear feedback from those who have one and adore it

@Enzbear I've looked at the nail bangles before and I don't feel the same pull towards them I don't think although they're lovely

I like Frey Wille, their jewellery is colourful which I like.

Pallisers · 17/01/2022 21:12

Not sure if it would be much cheaper but this is a great site for high-end consignment stuff.

I got the standard love in yellow gold in November and love it. It's such a classic piece and I know I will wear it for years.

Enzbear · 17/01/2022 21:16

*Love

ANameChangeAgain · 17/01/2022 21:17

I've got a solid Welsh gold bangle that I love but hardly wear.
I think with a 3k budget I would get a second hand tennis bracelet from our local little independent jeweller.

GivenchyDahhling · 17/01/2022 21:23

DH bought me the gold love bracelet around 5/6 years ago and I’ve stopped wearing it because I just don’t feel it’s as “special” as it once was, everyone on Instagram seems to have them now.

I do have the a 5 motif Van Cleef Alhambra which is super delicate but I absolutely adore it, I think it’s a much more elegant and timeless style. If I had to choose between the two I would take the Alhambra every time.

FromEden · 17/01/2022 21:32

I also love the look of the Tiffany t bracelet no screwdriver required for those at least!

LeQuern · 17/01/2022 21:34

Hmmmm. If I had £3-4k to spend on a bracelet, I don’t think I’d buy something that is a) pretty generic these days or b) is being copied by all the counterfeiters from Turkey to Thailand.

I’d buy a unique, antique piece. Or a slim, classic tennis bracelet as suggested above.

Camomila · 17/01/2022 21:52

I have a troll beads bracelet that I add new beads to for special occasions, but I think with charm bracelets it's more fun to let them build up slowly rather than buy a full one straight away.

HelloDulling · 17/01/2022 21:56

I think would get a jeweller to make me a couple of plain gold bangles.

mdinbc · 17/01/2022 21:58

I think if I had that budget for a bracelet, I would get a David Yurman. The link ones are very nice, and classic. I do agree with LeQuem that there are so many knock-offs of Cartier, that no one would realize that it really is a nice piece.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 17/01/2022 21:59

I'd go for a Fope bracelet, very wearable/comfortable and a nice weight.
