Inspired by another thread.
My nan used to call people chucklebutty, meaning "sweetheart" or "darling". She called everyone in the family this, also the dog, the cat, random people... Since she died, I have never heard anyone else say it and I wondered if she made it up or if it's regional? For context, she lived in Derbyshire and was born in the 1920s.
I have lived abroad for many years and have taught my daughters this word because I like the thought of it carrying on
